Outbreaks occur in only about one third of cases, depending on the strength of the immune system and the length of infection outbreaks decrease with time. Chlamydia Chlamydia is perhaps the most common of all STDs, though it is less renowned than many others. In nearly three quarters of women and half of men chlamydia produces no symptoms at all. Left untreated, it causes permanent damage to the female reproductive system, and in some cases infertility. Fortunately, affordable and reliable testing is available for chlamydia — and it is highly responsive to antibiotics. Additional Information
What makes a song a hit? Spoiler alert: I have no idea; but I, like millions of other music fans and creators, am constantly in search of the answer. Most hit songs offer little insight into the mystery. But every once in a while we get a song that gives us a glimpse of the underlying secret, like when a cover of an unsuccessful song becomes a global smash. Before we go any further, let me clarify my terms. Some of the best, most-beloved songs of all time were never hits and some of the biggest hits are just flat-out terrible. It attained worldwide fame after being covered and reworked by English synth-pop duo Soft Cell in and has since been covered by numerous groups and artists. American artist Gloria Jones recorded the original version of "Tainted Love" in ; the song was written and produced by Ed Cobb and arranged by Lincoln Mayorga. According to Nick Talevski, before Jones recorded the song, Cobb had offered it to the Standells , whom he managed and produced, but they rejected it. The track's Motown -influenced sound featuring a fast tempo, horns, electric rhythm guitar and female backing vocals fit in perfectly with the music favoured by those involved in the UK's Northern Soul club scene of the early s, and Searling popularised the song at the Northern Soul club Va Va's in Bolton, and later, at Wigan Casino. Owing to the new-found underground popularity of the song, Jones re-recorded "Tainted Love" in and released it as a single, but it also failed to chart. This version was released on her album Vixen and was produced by her boyfriend Marc Bolan. English vocal-and-synth duo Soft Cell became aware of the song through its status as a UK " Northern soul " hit. Some time after, Soft Cell began performing the song in their live setlist, choosing it instead of Frankie Valli 's " The Night ". There, Soft Cell's version was recorded in a day and a half with Almond's first vocal take being used on the record.
